Tether

Sometimes I feel I’d float away
Lost without a tether
Awake to see another day
But wondering altogether

Sometimes I feel I’d sink below
No grounding here to keep
Swirling through the thickest snow
Blind to all who weep

Sometimes I feel I’d disappear
A scent…a drop…a trace
Captive to the loss and fear
But longing for His face

Sometimes I wake up to the noise
Numbness brought to blood
Lowly stoop to dancer’s poise
A heart given grace to flood
